Women leaders support Kaye's re-election!

Leading women elected office holders like U.S. Congresswoman & former Virginia State Senator Jennifer Wexton, Fairfax Sheriff Stacey Kincaid, and former U.S. Congresswoman & Virginia State Senator Leslie Byrne have endorsed Delegate Kory for re-election.

As a former State Senate colleague of  Kaye's, U.S. Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton knows Kaye's leadership as the co-founder and House Chair of the Women's Reproductive Health Care Caucus is instrumental in advocating for pro-choice legislation in our Commonwealth.

"Kaye Kory is a strong woman who shares my goals of social and economic justice in Virginia.  I am proud to endorse her re-election."

— U.S. Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton

Fellow force to be reckoned with, Fairfax Sheriff Stacey Kincaid, has worked alongside Delegate Kory in advocating for the equitable treatment of incarcerated women in prison and jails.  In 2018, Delegate Kory was the first legislator in the nation to get signed into law guaranteed access to feminine hygiene and menstrual products for incarcerated women in prison and jails.

"From one force to be reckoned with to another, I am proud to support Delegate Kory's re-election. We have worked together closely to improve the conditions of jails and prisons in which women are incarcerated, including on her bill, HB 83, which was the first in our nation to supply feminine hygiene and menstrual products to women inmates and prisoners at no cost to them."

— Fairfax Sheriff Stacey Kincaid

Former U.S. Congresswoman & Virginia State Senator Leslie Byrne also supports Kaye's re-election.  She understands that electing and retaining more women in office means better representation of the issues that matter most to them.  If more women served in elected office, establishing civil equality and the right to choose reproductive health care would not be the century-long fight that it has become.

"I have represented the 38th District as a Delegate and as a Senator.  I know exactly what it takes to do this job in Richmond, and I know this district particularly well.  Kaye Kory has been active and involved in our community for over 35 years.  Her experience as a leader advocating for our community is unrivaled.  She understands what public service is all about:  serving the interests of the constituents she represents.  I'm proud to give Kaye my full support."

— Former U.S. Congresswoman & Virginia State Senator Leslie Byrne

U.S. Senator Mark Warner supports Kaye's re-election!

U.S. Senators and former Governors of our Commonwealth of Virginia — Mark Warner & Tim Kaine — support Kaye's re-election because of her experience.  Senator Warner knows experienced leadership counts — twenty years of public service and over thirty years of community involvement.  Senator Kaine points out that Kaye's leadership in the House of Delegates as the Chair of the Women's Health Care Caucus is critical.

"I have known Kaye Kory since she served on the School Board.  Kaye has an impressive record as a progressive public education advocate for students in Fairfax and across the Commonwealth.  State investment in education has increased 64% since she's been in office!"

—  Mark Warner

United States Senator and former Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia

"Kaye Kory is a leader for women's rights in the General Assembly.  As the Chair of the Women's Health Care Caucus, her leadership is needed in Richmond now more than ever."

—  Tim Kaine

United States Senator and former Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia

Former Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, supports Kaye's re-election!

Former Governor Terry McAuliffe — a "brick wall" of defense for women's rights — has endorsed Kaye's re-election!  He is confident that as Chair of the Women's Health Care Caucus, Kaye can take on General Assembly Republicans in 2020.

"Voters in House District 38 are extremely lucky to have Kaye Kory as their representative in Richmond.  Kaye has a career as a progressive champion for women's healthcare rights and civil rights fighting for the passage of the ERA.  She has also been a fierce defender of DACA students' right to receive in-state tuition while attending Virginia's excellent public universities and colleges.  Kaye's advocacy and leadership makes clear that her experience matters now and when we have a Democratic majority in 2020.  Vote to re-elect Kaye Kory! "

—  Terry McAuliffe

Former Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia

Your representatives support Kaye's re-election!

The leaders that you voted for and currently represent you in the U.S. House of Representatives and in Virginia's State Senate support Kaye Kory's re-election as your advocate in Richmond.  Experienced leaders like U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly, Democratic Leader & State Senator Dick Saslaw (Senate District 35), and State Senator Dave Marsden (Senate District 37) know and work with Delegate Kory and rely on her expertise while collectively advocating for the public education our children deserve and for equitable access to and justice for women's reproductive health care and freedom.

"Incumbent Delegate Kaye Kory is the clear choice for Virginia's 38th District. Her career as a strong progressive voice on the Fairfax County School Board and in the Virginia House of Delegates shows Kaye has experience you can count on. From standing strong for our public educators to advocating for women's rights, environmental justice, criminal justice reform and healthcare, you know you can always count on Kaye. Be sure to vote to re-elect Delegate Kaye Kory!"

— U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly

Experienced leaders like U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly, Democratic Senate Leader Dick Saslaw, and State Senator Dave Marsden know...

  • As your Mason District School Board Member Kaye focused on preserving and enhancing the quality of our public schools while advocating for students of diverse backgrounds.

  • As your Delegate Kaye was able to help negotiate for a $73 million investment in public school teacher and staff pay, a salary increase of five percent!

Senate Democratic Leader Dick Saslaw values Kaye's experience as your representative in Richmond.  Democratic leaders rely on senior members like Kaye.

Effective governance and leadership as the majority party will require a breadth of knowledge our experienced leaders have developed over the course of their career.  Leading and maintaining a Democratic majority requires time and planning ahead, both of which Democrats in Richmond risk losing without effective and experienced legislators.  A lack of clear, coherent leadership with less experience in Richmond could potentially cost Democrats their chance at obtaining and maintaining the majority.

Re-electing Kaye Kory will help solidify our Democratic majority for future legislative sessions in the Virginia General Assembly.

State Senator Dave Marsden stands with Kaye.  As the Senate Chair of the Animal Welfare Caucus — originally founded by House Chair Delegate Kaye Kory — Senator Marsden has worked with Kaye to champion progressive legislation promoting the safety and welfare of our beloved companion animals.  He has also worked alongisde her promoting, proposing, and advocating for legislation spanning issues such as education, the environment, gun safety, women's rights, and voting rights.

"Kaye Kory has been an outstanding partner in issues affecting Mason District, Fairfax County, and the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Her leadership on animal welfare issues has been a source of bipartisan cooperation and she deserves our thanks for creating the Animal Welfare Caucus that meets each Tuesday at the General Assembly.  Kaye can be counted on in Richmond to advance progressive issues in education, the environment, gun safety, women's rights, and voting rights.  I am very proud to have served with Delegate Kaye Kory."

Democrat, SD37

Educators support Kaye's re-election!

As a former School Board Member, Kaye knows the challenges and rewards of serving our public schools.  During her service as a School Board member, Kaye focused on preserving and enhancing the quality of our public schools while advocating for students of diverse backgrounds.  Recently as a Delegate, Kaye was able to help negotiate for a $73 million investment in public school teacher and staff pay — a salary increase of five percent.  During Kaye's past five terms as your Delegate, state education investment has increased by a total of 64%!

That's why public education issue advocacy groups like the Fairfax Education Association (FEA) and Virginia Education Association (VEA), Fairfax County School Board Member At-Large Karen Keys-Gamarra, and candidate for Fairfax County School Board Member At-Large Rachna Sizemore Heizer know they can count on Kaye as their advocate in Richmond.

The VEA and FEA play a crucial role in making sure public education values are at the forefront of our leaders' advocacy in Virginia.  They work to help elect political leaders who support investing in public education — in our students, teachers, staff, faculty, and infrastructure — so that our children receive the excellent education they deserve.

"It is important that we protect and defend the elected officials who have demonstrated their commitment to investing in public education.  VEA members will help re-elect Delegate Kaye Kory and will be working hard to add more pro-public education Delegates and Senators like Delegate Kory this fall as we continue the fight to Fund Our Future in Virginia."

— Jim Livingston

VEA President

"Delegate Kaye Kory has been an adamant supporter of education.  She is a former school board member and is intimately aware of the challenges our teachers, staff and school system faces.  This past year, she supported the funding for teacher raises to assist Fairfax County Public Schools in recovering from years of salary cuts.  During the 2018 session, she sponsored a successful bill to provide menstrual supplies to women incarcerated  in prisons and jails and I hope to work with her to provide such products in our schools as we both strive to achieve menstrual equity.  I look forward to Kaye’s re-election as I am confident she will help us to pass the ERA in our Commonwealth.  Kaye Kory is an experienced legislator who has worked to serve her community.  I’m proud to endorse Delegate Kaye Kory for re-election."

Clean Virginia endorses Kaye's re-election!

Clean Virginia is an environmental advocacy organization that works to advance clean governance, energy, and competition by fighting monopoly utility corruption in our Virginia General Assembly.  Clean Virginia endorsed Delegate Kory because she has worked to support the promotion of clean energy in our Commonwealth, a robust and competitive clean energy Virginia economy, and community control over energy policies.

"It is an honor to once again endorse Delegate Kaye Kory for her re-election campaign.  We know she will continue to be a champion for reproductive freedom in the House of Delegates and will fight to protect and expand access to the full gamut of reproductive healthcare and rights.  At a time in our history like no other—when we are witnessing an all-out assault on abortion access in state legislators around the country, we need reproductive rights champions like Kaye Kory standing up and fighting for women and families in the Virginia General Assembly."

— Tarina Keene

Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia

NOW Virginia works locally in communities across our Commonwealth and cooperates at the state level to promote feminist values and a progressive vision for a prosperous, thriving, and robust future for women in Virginia by raising awareness about the issues that impact women economically, legally, socially, and personally.

Virginia's List knows that all Virginians benefit when women have an equal voice and representation in our Commonwealth's General Assembly.  That's why Virginia's List works politically to provide the critical resources necessary to run for office to Democratic women candidates and incumbents.  In 2017, Virginia's List helped nearly double the number of women in the House of Delegates by flipping 11 seats held by Republican men with Democratic women.

#VOTEPROCHOICE is a national political organizing project that works to connect our pro-choice voters with pro-choice champions in every election.  #VOTEPROCHOICE was founded on the premise that 72% of American voters believe that women should have safe, legal, accessible access to abortion.  Kaye has been recommended by #VOTEPROCHOICE in recognition of her leadership advocating for women's reproductive freedom.

Health care professionals support Kaye's re-election!

When Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, they included money for states to expand Medicaid coverage.  But General Assembly Republicans refused that money and stranded 400,000 working Virginians without healthcare.

With the help of grassroots advocates, Kaye and her colleagues in the House of Delegates and Senate were finally able to pass Medicaid Expansion for those 400,000 uninsured working Virginians.

Tom Greeson, President of Community Health, recognized Kaye's work pushing for Medicaid Expansion in Virginia.

"Delegate Kaye Kory was instrumental in delivering Medicaid Expansion.  We were proud to give her the Health Equity Award for helping expand Medicaid in the Commonwealth of Virginia."

– Tom Greeson

Community Health President

"When Chico's needed support, Delegate Kory helped us call our community to action.  Her work engaging the community, supporting the animals we love most, and putting petty disagreements aside to get work done really makes a difference.  Delegate Kory is a leader who cares about the real issues that matter to real people."
